MDBG English to Chinese Dictionary: probably my favorite online dictionary out there.

HanziCraft: amazing site for those of you wanting to learn more about Chinese radicals (oh and did I mention great dictionary?)

國語辭典修訂本(中華民國教育部): a pretty descent dictionary in traditional Chinese; everything's written in Chinese but it's great for looking up the etymology of words.

教育部重訂標點符號手冊 PDF 檔案: a Chinese punctuation guide used in Taiwan, note that some punctuation marks might be different from the ones used in Mainland.

Chinese Punctuation (Wikipedia): just read through it if punctuation happens to be one of your weaker links.

Yahoo 奇摩字典: an English to Chinese dictionary designed for Taiwanese users

Online flash cards from Quizlet: great for memorizing vocabularies.

注音與漢語拼音對照表: a Zhuyin (Bopomofo) to Pinyin guide.

Google Translate: pretty untrustworthy at times, I think we all know that.

 - there are some great entries on Wikipedia worth reading, so here's a list of the ones I highly recommend:

部首 Radical (Chinese characters): a very fascinating post for those of you who are just starting out

四聲 Four tones (Chinese): pretty basic stuff

中文文法 Chinese grammar: this one is great cause it points out some of the mistakes even native speakers make on a daily basis.

現代中文 Modern Chinese / Standard Chinese

漢字簡化爭論 Debate on traditional and simplified Chinese characters

粵文 Written Cantonese: for those of you interested in the difference between "standard Chinese" and Cantonese
